IS IT CHRISTMAS ALREADY??

I didn’t know if it was or not, because when I finished physical therapy, my hubby told me to go to the car dealer and try out this little number and see if I like it:

so, I drove it and he bought it, and I screamed and kissed him, and now I have a freaking 2012, Hyundai Accent!!  It was just unloaded off the truck because the dealer sold all their 2011’s.  I have the only one in town.  It is loaded and they gave us such a good deal.  Plus, being Memorial day week-end, and us being retiree military peeps….they gave us a discount for that too.  Anyone going in that is military gets a discount this weekend!  So cool!

 

I hadn’t planned on getting this kind of car.  I wanted a VW Beetle.  But then my hubby and I talked and he thought I could get more car for my money.  We talked about different kinds.  This car has 100,000 miles or 10 years  for warranty.  Pretty good, eh?  Can’t beat that with a stick.  The only down side?  I gotta leave the girl for a month while I’m in FL with my new baby….oh well, when I get back….watch out, baby!!! I’m going on a BIG road trip, look out mama!! We are taking off!!  So, yeah, it looks like Christmas came early at my house….not only did I get a new car, but I am also getting a new baby, and who knows what else Santa will get me.  Geez….I have been a good girl….someone has been watching….tee hee!

SILLY PEOPLE!! RAPTURES ARE FOR GOD!

I BET THESE IDIOTS FELT AS DUMB AS THESE BUNNIES FOR ALL THE HYPE THEY CAUSED!  AFTER ALL,  NO ONE KNOWS THE TIME OR THE HOUR OF THE END OF THE AGE, NOT EVEN JESUS.  ONLY THE FATHER.  MATTHEW 24 IS A GOOD CHAPTER THEY SHOULD READ. 

 

SO, I SPENT SOME QUALITY TIME AT THE BEACH TODAY.  GOT SOME EXCELLANT RAYS.  I SUNBLOCKED OF COURSE, BUT I AM STILL PINK.  IT NEVER WORKS FOR ME, THE SUNBLOCK.  I THINK I AM IMMUNE TO IT.  I PUT IT ON ABOUT 20 MINUTES PRIOR, THEN GO OUT.  I ALWAY BURN.  IT MAY BE SOME OF MY MEDICINES TOO.  IDK. 

 

I AM STILL IN THE PROCESS OF PACKING TOO.  HAHA, LIKE THAT WILL EVER BE DONE!!  IT WILL BE MOMENTS BEFORE WALKING OUT THE DOOR, AND I WILL STILL NOT BE FINISHED!  LOL  YUP, TIS ME.  SO BAD.  BUT I DO HAVE SUITCASES OUT AND STUFF PILED NEAR.  SO MAKING PROGRESS!

 

MY DAUGHTER DID HAVE AN UPDATE ON DELILAH.  SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE ARRHYTHMIA ANYMORE.  APPARENTLY IT CORRECTED ITSELF.  THANK YOU JESUS! SHE HAS SEVERAL DOCTORS WATCHING HER NOW.  SHE GOES TWICE A WEEK FOR TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.  ONE IS FOR HER REGULAR OB APPT.  THE OTHER IS FOR MEASURING THE BABY’S GROWTH CURVE.  THEY ARE WATCHING HER PROGRESS AND ESTABLISHING A PATTERN OF HER GROWTH FOR HER SIZE.  SHE IS SO PETITE THAT THEY HAVE TO MEASURE HER ON A DIFFERENT SCALE THAN FOR A REGULAR SIZE BABY.  BLESS HER TINY LITTLE SELF.  SHE IS GROWING AT A REGULAR PACE RIGHT NOW, BUT AT SOME POINT SHE WILL PLATEAU, AND WHEN SHE DOES, THEY WILL DECIDE TO INDUCE HER.  SHE IS IN HER 37TH WEEK NOW. SO SHE CAN DELIVER HER ANYTIME. THEY TOLD MY DAUGHTER TO BRING HER BAG TO EVERY APPT AND EXPECT TO STAY IF NEED BE IF THEY DECIDE TO KEEP HER.  I TOLD JENNIFER THEY BETTER WAIT TILL I GET THERE OR SOMEONE IS IN BIG TROUBLE!!  I JUST CHANGED MY STUPID TICKET AND COST A BUNCH OF MONEY TO DO IT!! SHE BETTER CROSS HER LEGS AND PUT A CORK IN IT!!  LMAO!!  ALL KIDDING ASIDE, SHE SEE’S THE SPECIALIST AGAIN JUNE 2ND AND I WILL BE THERE ON THE 29TH.  SO, HOPEFULLY, DELILAH WILL WAIT FOR HER NONNA!!  JIN HAS BEEN HAVING LOTS OF BACK LABOR AND MANY CONTRACTIONS.  THEY HAVE NOT CHECKED HER TO SEE IF SHE IS DILATED AT ALL.  SO, MAYBE IN THE NEXT WEEK.  STAY TUNED RIGHT HERE FOR THE NEXT EXCITING EPISODE OF THE DELILAH DIARIES!!

Getting Ready to Take Flight

Yup, I’m getting ready to take off!!  In just a few short days I’m leaving for FL to my daughters for a whole month!!  I’m going a bit early in case they have to induce her.  I don’t want to miss the arrival of my lil Delilah Rose!! 

 

My baby at her shower, she is in the middle with her big belly!!  All the other girls at the shower with her that were preggo too!!  There is a joke going around there that it’s in the water if you drink it, you will get pregnant.  So, I commented that I will do my best to avoid the tap water while there.  But I made a joke on FB, I would come home pregnant to my honey….and my daughter was grossed out.  Now that would totally be impossible…since all the plumbing had been removed, and she knew that, but it still would be funny!!  And a miracle to boot!!  God would really want for us to have another for that to happen!! Especially without my hubby present!!  haha! 

 

So, of course there will be a thousand pictures up here of Delilah as soon as the moment happens.  And the play by play details.  Well, as much as she will allow me to put on here.  She is very modest.  Just like her mom…..lmao!!!  Yeah, right!  And of course my little Molly Moo will be so excited, she’s the BIG sister, and will be all too ready to tell her side of the story.  Well, I have some packing and sorting to do…I will be there a month, and I have no idea what to bring.  The problems of a Nonna…..right?  Stay tuned right here, for the next chapter of the Delilah diaries…..lol!

What’s Going On Around Here….?

Well, let me tell, ya!!  Sit down, take the load off, would ya?  It’s been a while.  First, what’s up with blogger?  Have they gone mad??  I can’t find anything around here….I lost my fave pair of of light blue undies, if anyone see’s them, mail them to this blogspot, k? 

 

Alrighty then….and what’s up with them throwing James off of Idol last night???? My jaw just about hit the floor when they announces Haley was safe!!!  I mean, c’mon…..that growling, arm swinging lil attitude wearin’ mug??? Over James???  Where are all the people???  This has got to be rigged.  All I can say is he is better off.  If he was to stay on Idol, he would be locked into a contract and would have to do whatever the heck they say.  Now he is free to do and work for whoever he wants.  More power to him!!! 

 

My daughter called and told me yesterday that she met with her specialist.  She is seeing a neonatologist for her baby because they heard an arrhythmia.  He didn’t hear it yesterday, BUT she isn’t growing as fast as he would like.  He said that it could be many different things causing it, environment….etc.  so they may end up delivering her early!!!  She is due on June 13th.  My flight was to be the 7th, but I changed it to the 29th of May.  I wouldn’t want to miss my lil Delilah loo’s entrance!!!  She meets with the Dr. again on the 2nd of June and they will decide then if they will induce or not depending on how much she has grown at that time.  I will keep you updated. 

 

Also yesterday, I had my hearing for disability.  It was such a nerve-wracking day.  It flew by so fast, It was all a blur.  Everything went fine.  I said everything that I was supposed to say, as did my husband.  It all went according to plan.  The judge does not make a decision the same day.  So….again we wait.  He will mail his verdict in 2-3 weeks.  I don’t think I can take all this waiting!!!  I am not a patient person!!!  Again, I will keep everyone abreast!!  I have two, ya know?

My Life As I Ponder The Week Ahead

Ok, so this week is going to be a very long and stressed out week for me.  I have a court hearing on Thursday for a disability case.  I applied over 2 years ago and it is finally come around.  The state of NC is so back logged in the court system that is has taken this long for my turn to get heard.  Can you believe it?  Well, the first two times I was denied, which my lawyer says is pretty much a standard for Social Security.  I don’t know.  I’ve known others that have not had any problems, and those that had more wait than I did. 

 

Anyway, I went to a meeting yesterday and my lawyer thinks that our case is very good.  I on the hand, am very pessimistic.  I am nervous, anxious and seem to forget details, which when I have to give testimony, may not look good.  Which is one of my disabilities.  Part of my fibromyalgia….I have fibrofog quite a bit, where I can’t concentrate, lose details to events that happened..and I forget.  Even when I was younger.  So, I write everything down.  LOL  Of course, there are the migraines, at least 5~6 a month.  Arthritis all up and down the spine…..carpal tunnel in both wrists, and arthritis in hips and hands, two discs are bad in the lumbar area of the back.  I have loss of range of motion and use in my right arm due from numerous surgeries.  My ability to concentrate and stay focused is very limited due to my complex medical condition.  I do have some cardiac problems.  Not so severe as my sister C, but enough to be bothersome.  I also have chronic kidney disease, stage 3.  Now, I didn’t mean to go on and on about how sick I am….I just wanted some that asked what was going on in Face Book that were concerned and were praying about it, to know the whole ordeal.  I appreciate all your prayers and good thoughts for me on Thursday.   I will keep you updated.  I won’t know a verdict for 2 weeks after.  I will be a mess until then.  Like I am not a mess now, right??   I appreciate any hints, helpful insights, or just feedback if you have it.  And thanks again for all your kind words and prayers already.

I was one of many millions watching this wondrous event and was amazed and awed at the glorious event.  I am still reeling and of course there are others who could care less.  It does not bother me.  It is my day to share with them.  It is a day I can say in 20 or 30 years and say I was there and remember it.   (hopefully, lol!)  Have you all a story to share of today’s events?  If you do, please share them.

Goodbye Sweet Man, WE LOOOVE YOU!

My father~in~law passed away today at 3pm.  We were all there with him, surrounding him with love and kisses and hugs.  He went peacefully. 

 

 

They have been married for 55 years.  They had 2 children.  Janet and Jim. Jim is my husband of almost 30 years.  Janet almost didn’t make it here in time to see her daddy alive.  She got here this morning at 6am.  The Lord saw fit for her to make it in time.  He passed at 3pm. Now many family members will be traveling to see us from near and far.  It will be a time for remembering and sharing.  A time for mourning a great person, a time for putting a wonderful and precious person to rest. 

 

 

Good bye daddy, we will miss you and know that you are in a better place.  You will always be in our hearts and lives. You were a BIG part and always will be. 

Time to Say Good~Bye…

Today my husband called as I was walking out the door to go to physical therapy and he was crying.  He said, “You need to come up to the nursing home with mom now, the hospice nurse and social worker are going to talk to us.” I didn’t know what to say.  I was shocked.  I hung up and told my mother~in~law.  She was confused, as I was, but proceeded to get ready and we were off.  

 

That was yesterday.  Today he has declined even further.  If you know someone or have lost someone, you may know the stages of dying.  It isn’t pretty, and it doesn’t come instantly.  So here we sit, waiting.  we have called the family.  My sister~in~law and husband are on their way as is her son.  They live in Delaware and SC. 

 

His vitals keep dropping, and they are keeping him comfortable.  That is all that we can do right now.  I ask for prayers that this will go quickly and peaceably.  He has suffered so much.  The poor man has dwindled down to almost nothing.  He has had a good long life, and I feel blessed to have been a part of it.  Yes, my life is fuller knowing this God fearing man.  He has made my life richer and fuller just to know him.  Not to mention he fathered the husband I have loved for over half my life!!!  lol  Gotta love that!

THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!

My daughter went to her neonatologist appointment today.  They examined all the chambers of the heart and told her that Delilah was fine!  THANK YOU GOD!  That was great news to my lil ears.  They took lots of pics too. (I will post those when I get them) She is only 3.5 lbs at the moment. She is in the 37%ile of her peers. So, she is pretty tiny.  I call her petite.  Jin and I are both small ladies.  And her daddy is not a big man either.  So….lil tiny thing, she comes by it naturally on all sides.

 

Thank you for all your kind words and prayers. Please continue to keep them lifted up in prayer for her to gain weight and be healthy.  She may have to deliver at Sacred Heart just to be safe.  She has to go back and see him again in 4 weeks for a follow up.  Just to be safe. Thanks again me bloggy buds! have a great week~end!

A Bleep on The Radar

My daughter found out today that her (in utero) baby Delilah has an arrhythmia.  It is not known as of yet what type.  The doctor seems to think that it is the valve that closes at birth.  Her other daughter Molly had this same thing when she was born.  He also told her it was common. I don’t know about you, but I don’t ever remember this being a common thing when my kids were born, do you?  Are they having new diseases nowadays?  GEESH! 

 

Her hubby is still deployed, well here in the states.  He will be home in this month.  He is the type to worry when it is unwarranted.  Bless him.  He can’t help it.   Jin is doing Ok, but Nonna and Papa are a little worried.  It comes with the territory of being parents.  Ya know?  Then grandparents.  She goes next Thursday to see a neonatologist at a special hospital in Pensacola.  So, please keep her in your prayers as well as her little family. 

 

Also, just to let you know, my FIL is not doing well at all.  He had a very bad urinary tract infection last week.  He is at the end stages of his disease, and since he is requesting no heroic efforts to sustain life, he is on HOSPICE care now.  The antibiotics are not doing anything for him.  He is refusing food.  He will drink some, but that will not sustain him very long.  It is just a matter of time.  They will keep him comfortable.  God bless him, he has fought this battle for several years.  Our family has been through a time.  I think it is a blessing for him.  My husband and MIL are not doing so good.  Please pray things go peaceably and quickly for them.  Thanks so much.  You all are so great.  Updates to come.

Fool Me Once…Yup You Did!

So how many of you got snaggled? How many got taken? How many of you really fell for your friends pranks and antics today? (Me is raising me hand very high and hard!)

 

Yup I did!  My middle sister who is not the funny one or the jokester in the family, except for this one day a year…texted me.  She lives in Nebraska. I am in North Carolina.  She says, “Go look out your front door.”  So I text her back as I walk to the door and open it, all the while thinking, WTH?? (I don’t say the F word, folks. That’s my sister, C!)  Anyhoo, another text….”did you do it?”  I said yup.  She said, “There should be someone pulling in shortly!”  Well our cleaning people just got there I told her.  She said NO! not them! Then my MIL came in and said what’s going on? I told her, and she said is she playing a joke on you?  Then I realized it….DUH!!! (I should of slapped myself, but didn’t!)  So…I texted her, APRIL FOOLS!!  At the same time, she sent me APRIL FRIGGEN FOOLS DAY!!   So, it was like a tie….I think. 

 

Anyway, some of the pranks she pulled at work:  she put a sign on the ladies restroom door:     PLEASE USE OTHER DOOR! 

Then she put a post it note under everyone’s mouse, and wrote April Fool!!

As if that was not enough, she took a brown paper bag and stuck it in the fridge with the words written on it: Squirrel

This is my sister that usually has no sense of humor and gets me and C pretty upset sometimes.  But today…well she got us good.  OH!  She called C’s house and said put the coffee on, I’m on my way.  And.never.showed.up!  LOL

Tuesday Tidbits

Just a short note to say that my babies are leaving in the morning.  They have been here 2 whole weeks and it has been so wonderful.  I will be going in June for 5 weeks when Delilah is born.  Then when I return it will be time for my big road trip.  I am driving to Nebraska, then to Texas, then through Florida again (it will be time to see the grandbabies again!) on back to North Carolina.  All this driving in my new lil VW bug!  I can’t wait!  This will be the year for traveling for sure!

 

My arm is healing nicely.  I started physical therapy yesterday.  It is a bit sore.  Lots of stretching and poking.  I don’t really care for it but I know it is necessary.  Ho hum.

 

I just started watching the show “Lie to Me” and I am sooo addicted. I have watched almost 2 seasons while my daughter was here.  She watches it too.  It is about a company that are deception experts, they read peoples facial expressions for government and other agencies.  It is sooo cool.  And of course, now I am an expert at it.  I think the guy is sooo darn attractive in his own special way.  He is British….and well, he sounds more Irish to me, but what do I know?  Must be my crazy mid-life fantasy….lol!

 

So, I have been Disney movied out for the last two weeks, and the last one is tonight, TANGLED! I don’t mind really, I love all of them, most of the movies are ones my daughter and son watched VHS when they were Molly’s age!  So naturally, Molly had to watch Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, Rescuers Down Under, Sword and the Stone, Dumbo, well there is just too many.  I bought Tangled today since it came out.  Her last prezzie from here for now.  She is too spoiled.  From all the Grammies!  Both girls got one today….

Is There Anything Sweeter?

My daughter fell asleep with her daughter Molly, and then she “texted” me, quick come take a picture, Molly had fallen asleep with her hand on her belly.  She is 7 months now, she loves her sissy “liya” her name is Delilah.  LOL

Sammy’s pants were so weighted down with candy from the pinata, ooops, we got a free peek! Too cute!!

Lil Pieces of My Everyday Life….

First, let me say thanks to all who have prayed and sent good thoughts my way for my surgery.  I really appreciate all the bloggy love and affection.  I am doing somewhat better, still having a bit of pain recuperating, but it will take time.  One of the best medicines is my daughter and her daughter Molly are here.  So…I have all my babies here.  What more can a Nonna ask for?

27 weeks and still growing….Delilah Rose is getting so BIG!!

My Babies are Coming!!!

Haha, made you look! Bet you thought I was having a baby, didn’t you?  Well, I am….just not this week.  Next week I will be.  Two of them to be exact.  My original….my daughter.  My youngest…my baby…my original baby.  And her baby, Molly, plus her unborn baby, Delilah Rose.  Well, if she changes the name, I’m in big trouble because I’ve written that name many places now.  lol

 

Someone forgot her pants, but then who needs pants??  i dont wear mine in the kitchen, do you?

Bits n Pieces of Yummy Crumbs

We had a wonderful party for my oldest grand daughter Jordan….she just turned 5.  Her little brother, Samuel is 2.  They are my pride and joy here in NC.  In 2 weeks, I will have my daughter and her daughter, Molly here for 2 weeks.  I will be in Nonna heaven!!  I will have both my kids here, and all my grandkids together.  Even the unborn one!  She will have her in June.  I will there in FL for that one too.

So then on the horizon, the same day my daughter flys in, I have to have surgery on my elbow.  Yeah, bummer, it hasn’t even been a year since the surgery on my shoulder.  All on the same side too.  I told my ortho doc he was just going to work his way down my arm to my fingers!!  (I have carpal tunnel also that needs repairing on both wrists and have put that off.)  So, if I don’t have the surgery on the day she flys in, I will have to wait another month.  I am having so much pain, I didn’t think I could.  She said she didn’t mind and would help.  So…the same time, I found out I had glaucoma and was put on drops.  Then just a few days later….another bomb:  I have chronic kidney disease, stage 3, which is moderate kidney damage, which is permanent.  There are 5 levels of kidney damage, 5 being the worse.  That being where you would get a transplant.  I am having tests run, blood, MRI, urine, etc. to see the extent of the damage.  As of now, they don’t know what has caused it.  I think it is some of my medications.  I have taken so much for my migraines over the years.  Very strong ones, some long term.  They have to have taken a toll on my organs.  Anyway, I will keep you all updated.  Sorry to have rambled.

Something to Make You Smile…

when life is a lil stressfull, just…..let.it. go!!!

FIL update

I really gotta post more.  lol  Thot I would update the world on my  FIL.  It was pretty bad the last couple of days.  Yesterday, the doctor came in and basically told us we had to make a decision.  For those who don’t know, my father in law is in the hospital for what started out as a very bad urinary tract infection.  Then this became septic.  There were two strains of infection.  One was E. coli, the other, unidentifiable. They treated him with all the known antibiotics they normally do.  He responded at first.  Then around the fourth or so day, he went backward.  So that is when they told my husband and his mom to decide if they wanted to proceed with treatment.  He is a 77 year old man, who does not want heroic measures taken if his heart should stop or he gets a terminal illness.  They asked my FIL if he wanted to go “home” (he lives at the nursing home) or stay at the hospital to receive treatment.  If he went home, he would be made comfortable with hospice.  That would be all.  He chose the treatment.  We will hope and pray he continues to heal.  So far, his white cell count is good, tomorrow they will check his kidney function.  If he continues this course, he may just have this beat.  If the infection does not respond to this antibiotic, then they will have to send him back to the home on hospice.  Please pray for whatever God’s plan is for our lil family.  It has been quite a rough couple of years.  Thanks guys.
