FIL update

I really gotta post more.  lol  Thot I would update the world on my  FIL.  It was pretty bad the last couple of days.  Yesterday, the doctor came in and basically told us we had to make a decision.  For those who don’t know, my father in law is in the hospital for what started out as a very bad urinary tract infection.  Then this became septic.  There were two strains of infection.  One was E. coli, the other, unidentifiable. They treated him with all the known antibiotics they normally do.  He responded at first.  Then around the fourth or so day, he went backward.  So that is when they told my husband and his mom to decide if they wanted to proceed with treatment.  He is a 77 year old man, who does not want heroic measures taken if his heart should stop or he gets a terminal illness.  They asked my FIL if he wanted to go “home” (he lives at the nursing home) or stay at the hospital to receive treatment.  If he went home, he would be made comfortable with hospice.  That would be all.  He chose the treatment.  We will hope and pray he continues to heal.  So far, his white cell count is good, tomorrow they will check his kidney function.  If he continues this course, he may just have this beat.  If the infection does not respond to this antibiotic, then they will have to send him back to the home on hospice.  Please pray for whatever God’s plan is for our lil family.  It has been quite a rough couple of years.  Thanks guys.

Update On My Family

Chris is a bit weak today.  That is due to low red blood hemoglobin.  She is receiving blood today and should go home tonight.  She is in shock that she has had a heart attack.  As we are.  My brother has too, Several years ago, only he was only 48.  And he quadruple bypass surgery.  Thankfully, my sister didn’t need that.

My dad in law is about the same.  He looked a bit better today.  I guess all the extra fluids made him look better, I hope he is feeling better where he can go back to his “home” at the nursing facility.  He does better when he is a routine.   Anyway, I appreciate all your prayers and support for our family.  On another note….I found out this morning my other sister’s son is also having some medical issues.  When it rain’s it pours!!  He went to the ER this morning.  He will be having an endoscopy and colonoscopy this week.  He is only 22.  Very young to have all that happening.  Bless him.  Thanks again for all your bloggy love!!

On Me Sister Midwestern Mama

Well, some of you know my sister C, Midwestern Mama With a New York Heart, she suffered a mild heart heart attack last night.  She is doing much better now that she had surgery and had a stent put in.  Of course she will write and give all the good and gory details as she lovingly does.  I just wanted to let everyone that reads me that mostly reads her know.  I know you will be praying and sending good thoughts her way.  She had been having chest pain all week and taking her nitroglycerine.  Well, on Friday night it didn’t seem to go away.  They went to the ER.  After doing the preliminary tests, Diane went home.  The enzymes came back positive and C called her.  The did the heart catherization in the morning.  Her blockage was 90%.  It was the same blockage she had last time that they could not reach that was 40% blocked.  The got it this time, the lil booger. She will have to change diet and excercise per doctors orders.  On another note, the same day, my father in law went into the ER this morning with an acute bladder and kidney infection.  He is in the nursing home here and has to wear a catheter.  He is prone to urinary tract infections a lot.  When my husband got to the nursing home this morning, his foley bag was full of blood!!  Well they transported him by ambulance and have been in the ER all day.  They decided to keep him and treat him aggressively for dehydration and bladder and kidney infections.  Today was a very stressful day….hope you all had a better weekend!!  Ours should go better from this point on I think.  Happy Valentines peoples!!!

So I Need Your Opinion….please

I am getting rid of the ole ball and chain….I’ve had her for 5 years now.  She was a good old bird.  But she is just too darn much for me anymore.  She is big, expensive, hard to maneuver…and just well, BIG!  I’m talking about my truck.  Not my MIL, sorry.  She may need to go soon too, but my husband may be attached to her a bit.  lol

 

Well this is what I am thinking of getting…

This isn’t the actual car or anything….they are just ones that I like.  Cute, huh?  I have always wanted a bug.  We owned one when I was growing up, back in the day…well they looked alot different then.  I have wanted one since then.  Then my middle sister got one last year.  No doubt she will think that I am copying her.  lol  Imitation is the best form of compliment, only I was with her when she bought it and I told her that I had planned on getting one.  Hers was a spur of the moment impulse buy. 

 

Anyway, this is a cheaper form of travel…easier to park….and not to mention, SO DARN CUTE!!!  And I want your opinion, what do you think?  Don’t be afraid….I wanna know….

For My Momma

Ok, so I didn’t post on the actual day of my mom’s anniversary of her death….but I’m here now…I have found all my pictures…which is the reason I was late in the first place.  Please don’t shoot me yet.  I haven’t posted.  K?  Alrighty then, I wrote on my sister’s blog, C, about my earliest memory of my mom.  Well, for those of you who read her blog, this will be a rerun.  Sorry.  But I have a picture for you if you hang out long enough.  lol  I know, I’m such a tease.  When I was 2.5 yrs old, my daddy was carrying me down the stairs, we had hardwood floors, and he slipped.  He landed on me, breaking and dislocating my hip.  He yelled for my momma.  She came running, and they were both crying.  I couldn’t move.  I didn’t cry.  I just know my daddy picked me up so gently and carried me out to the car.  I don’t remember the car ride.  I do remember the hospital though.  I had to be there a long time with my legs in traction.  I remember a strong smell.  My momma stayed with me all the time or my daddy some of the time.  But they had the twins which were just 4 at home and Chris who was 9.  So they had their hands full.  When I did go home, I was entertained all the time.  Imagine being 2 1/2 and being in a body cast for 3~4 months, flat on your back.  I couldn’t stand.  I had to fed.  I had to be washed and changed.  Here I am on my lil couch surrounded by my court of entertainers.  Chris is in the back with her friend.  I guess she needed someone to play with besides me.  My mommy always was at my side no matter what I needed.  The twins played with me too.  I guess when you have something traumatic happen to you, it sticks in your memory or you flush it out.  For me, it was a memorable thing because it was bad, but also comforting in every way.

this is Christmas morning. a month before she died. that is my daughter helping her open her present. she is the one having her second baby!  molly’s momma!!  you can see she is already sick, she has pneumonia here. in two weeks, she will go in the hospital and never come home. 

here she is 8, making her 1st Communion.  how cute, on the roof!!

she had many friends that ended up marrying her brothers.  this one married her brother gerald.

this was the love of her life, he is the same man she is with up above in the formal picture.  if she hadn’t met my daddy, she probably would of married him, except he liked “his drink” and she didn’t!

this is probably one of my fave of her, she looks so pretty! but i have to say, for the 40’s, it is a bit short, don’t you think? 

 

Well, maman, I miss you.  I know we will see each other some day again.  I believe that. 

And for you all me bloggy buds, I hope you were all pleased with the tribute to my lovely mom.  She was a beautiful person, who may have made some bad choices in her life.  But haven’t we all?  She regretted many things before she died.  We spoke a lot and she knows she could of done many things differently.  But you can’t change the past.  We must move forward.  I love her dearly, I miss her.  I still remember cute things she did and said and I smile.  I share with my kids and grandkids.  Only the good things.  Well, time to prepare dinner for the old people.  Oh, yeah that would be me!  ha ha  Have a great weekend peeps!

Toone, my baby sissy.. i know you keep having one health issue after another, just like me, but things will get better. i mean what's the worst that can happen? we die. that's all. no biggie. there are worse things than dieing. the trick is to fight everything we get thrown at us, eventually they'll give up when they see how strong we are and that THEY can't deplete our spirits. after all, we are french TOONES. the only ones in da fammy fam famala. by the way, who the hell are THEY and what kind of pizza do they order.?.

so to cheer the dirty gQQg up, i put a few of our fave tings on yo' sidebar... erm, well.. maybe just a lil more than a few. so when you get lonely or sad or feel like yo' dieing even tho you aren't, look at our faves and let them embrace you with the comfort we had doing those things live. k? je t'aime puis tout vas allez bien.

and remember, someday soon Diane and i are coming to live with you's... and we will spend our days at the beach, walking, shopping, traveling, and of course eating. we will frikkin eat e.v.e.r.y single day, k? cuz i have a feeling i am going to win the lottery anytime now. it's MY turn. hey, we weren't born in New Britain fer nuttin.

Working out can Kill!!

Just so you know, they should put labels on this stuff cuz it is soooooo dad gum dangerous!  A gal could break a nail or even a sweat using it!

Here are a few more shots of Lil Molly.  They went geocaching today.  Let me know if any of you have ever went or ever heard of this for that matter.  It works with a GPS.  You get coordinates online and you go to those places then you find something in a container.  I am still fuzzy on the details. Anyway, it is like a treasure hunt with other participants.  I have never played.  They started doing this when they were in Italy.

A New Belly Update!

 

This was taken today, and is only 5 weeks later then the one I posted before!  Can you believe how big she got in just 5 short weeks?  I told her she was going to have a 15 lb baby!  lol  Jokingly, I said we would call her (the baby belly) the butterball. 

 

 

So this is 19 weeks.  And they have thought of several names so far.  Ruby is one of them.  Their daughter likes the show Max and Ruby…..go figure.  They also like the name Cecelia, calling her Cici for short.  And then they like Rosy.  Just plain Rosy.  Plain little simple names.  I went on line and looked up Irish girl’s names, because that is our heritage, (and French too) but his family is Irish too.  They have a very Irish last name.  I spent like 3 hours and sent a list of like 10 names that were so very nice and different.  She liked a few of them.  But I don’t think daddy did.  lol  Oh well….it was fun!  More later!

YES!!!! We Are Expecting!!!

We are having a girl in June!  And it’s not gonna hurt me at all!  Cuz my daughter is having her!  LOL  Now you didn’t think this old person was having a lil baby now did you?  ha ha

 

That would take a trick from the Almighty because things have been removed to make that impossible.

Now you’ve met the family.  They will be having our little one in June.  I will go down and help them, God willing, for as long as they need me.  He will deploy shortly after that.  She will be alone with the two girls for 3-4 months.  Unless Uncle Sam decides to extend him, which he has done before to both of them. 

 

So, hoping there will be some traveling for the girls to see us, and some for us to be down in FL with them to take up the slack.  It is pretty hard with two babies.  Especially when one is gone.  She is quite an exceptional mom though and I am very proud to call her my daughter.  (though she is my baby, and always will be!)  More updates to come.  I just didn’t want you all to think that I was the one giving birth, though that would be funny….I would love nothing more.  I love babies soooo much.  But, I think God knew what He was doing when He gave babies to young people.  We older ones have kinks and crackles that just aren’t conducive to chasing little ones!!  I love it though when they come over and crawl all over me.  It’s like baby heaven….I just can suck out all their youth and breathe them in….ahhhh, the smell of a fresh baby, I can’t wait to taste a fresh one!!  lol

The Hydroxytone Trial Debacle

I had seen this advertisement for hydroxytone on TV for a few months.  It was given away to celebrities at the awards.  I went online to read about it.  It had good reviews.  I thought I would order a trial.  It was only $1.99 after all, what was there to lose?  So, I filled out all the boring details….long as they were! Hit the submit button, only to be denied my unwrinkling! They said I forgot something or other on my form, so I went through all the whole ordeal AGAIN, but……when I did, I read some small, tiny, miniscule print on my way through to the one thing that I forgot, which by the way was my my phone number. 

Well, I read that once you order this, for $1.99, they have your credit card number.  Then in a month, they will ship you without your approval, well, I guess you have approved it, by purchasing the trial only you wouldn’t know this unless you had a magnifying glass to read it in the beginning, another order of the cream for $141.00!  Well, when I read this, I was so glad that the error occurred, I quickly erased all my information and hit the cancel button. 

But the nightmare didn’t end here.  Later that night, hubby and I were watching TV, I got a call on my cell phone.  I didn’t recognize the number but answered it anyway.  It was the a man from this company. He saw that I had canceled my order and wanted to know why.  I explained why.  That I like to be in control of my bank account and not have anything taken out whenever.  I adamantly told him over and over NO I don’t want their product.  HANG UP!

The next day, looking over my bank stuffs online, I see a debit for what else: $1.99!  From HYDROXYTONE!! The guy charged my account, which I don’t know how the heck he got, or how he got my phone number either!  I call the company, and they tell me, “I’m sorry, we’ve already shipped that order.”  I was soooo mad.  I felt like  someone stole from me.  Just because I hung up on him, he probably got mad and charged my card. 

Well, two can play at that game.  I called my bank.  I stopped payment on my card.  Ordered a new card.  Called the stupid company back, told them to cancel my account.  They told me I had to return the bottles of cream.  Yeah like that’s going to happen.  I never ordered them!  I guess the laugh will be on them when they go to charge my card next month when it comes time to renew!  The funny thing is, I got the cream in the mail, and it is good cream and I think it does work!  But do you think I will EVER order from them?  HECK no!  I will order it on EBAY, it is way cheaper and I can get when I need it.  It is a fraction of the cost.  So there, Hydroxytone, stick that in your cream!

Still no Dictionary, But I do Have A Humphrey!!

What might you ask is a dang Humphrey?  Well, you should ask, who?  Cuz, he is just the darnest, cutest, most adorable lil poopster you ever saw.  He is my nephew and here he is:

Yup, Still hanging around….

So, I have been really feeling kind of bad not posting every day.  Feeling guilty.  I read all these wonderful blogs with very smart and emotional meanings and thoughts.  I have nothing.  I draw a blank.  I am sitting every day looking at my screen wondering where you people get your inspiration from.  I look up at the ceiling and there isn’t anything there.  I went to the window, peeked out at the horizon, nada.  Stared at the floor to see if it would speak to me, the dog got off the couch and thought we were going somewhere.  (note to self: don’t look at floor again unless going for a walk with dog!)

 

So I am racking my lil pea brain as to what might I just do each day for an idea for my blog?  Then I had a light bulb moment.  It’s not Einstein, mind you, but I think it may work for me.  And it may inspire a few of you.  I am going to use our friend, Webster’s Dictionary to help me find a thought or subject each day.  It was just sitting there doing nothing….and when the need arises, like a special day, or something I will do that instead. 

 

Though I am sure I will still have my lazy days.  Who doesn’t?  lol  Well, I am off to search for the biggest and best Webster I can find!  Oh, and some lunch too!  tee hee!
