FREAKY FRIDAY

So my Canadian friend Technodoll challenged us to this cute little game.  So I had nothing else to do today, thot I would give it a whirl, eh?  lol  Here we go:  I studied really hard….hope I get it all right….

K- The best part of my KITCHEN is:  the new appliances, we just had a renovation so all of it is new

How Stupid Can You Be?

I’m watching the world’s dumbest criminals and this guy and his girl, drunk as a crap, higher than a kite, show up at the police station, to get a ride home. that is not the funny part. while they are standing there waiting….he is playing with himself….no lie….she is staggering back and forth…..swaying to the music, (i don’t think there really was any playing, i didn’t hear any) and then she goes to sit on the bench. bless her little inebriated heart, she misses it by about a foot and falls flat on her butt! he runs over to her and yells, “get up bitch, you want to get caught?” then the police happen to stroll out, lol, and catch them yelling at each other. they happen to frisk them. the fella has some weed in his shoe, and you know what he says? “what, thats not mine….its orgegano!” Talk about your rotten luck! DUMMIES!

This is not in the stupid category, but funny anyway... going to visit dad in law at the nursing home tonight….we sat down to chat with him, asked him what was new like we always do. he said, “i shit my self.” i just almost fell off the couch. i tried not to laugh, cuz it wasn’t really funny, but then it was. i didn’t want to look at my husband then i knew i would lose it. i glanced at mom in law, saw her nostrils flare cuz she was holding it in, but then dad started to giggle about it and so we all guffawed and had a laugh about it. me, well, i got so tickled it lasted a bit longer, like maybe 30 or so minutes. i had to walk away. yup, you can’t take me anywhere. well, if you shit yourself, don’t expect me to keep a straight face, k? just sayin’.

Another Day, Someone Else’s Life

This is so weird that I haven’t written in a week. Well, I am recovering from my vacation, that does take some time. Yeah, sitting around watching movies, shopping, eating, playing games, swimming, visiting can be exhausting. DON’T ATTEMT IT IF YOU HAVE A HEART PROBLEM!!

Meanwhile, since renovations, I have been hanging pictures, putting things back where they belong, because hubby’s don’t know a thing about how to do those kind of things. I have more stuff than I know what to do with! PLUS my mil has kept everything she ever owned and I have to go through all her things with her, and sort through, sift, decide what is worth keeping and not, and look at her throw it away. Things they have had for over 50 years! How do you tell someone this letter or card is garbage now? Or this paper bag is not worth anything? She saved EVERYTHING! Some things are worth keeping. But come on…a hospital bracelet from 1950? For no reason, not even a birth….just because…ewwww, the germs. Where is the Lysol?

Ok, enough depressing stuff, so we went to the thrift store….and my hubby….bless him, thinking we are getting rid of stuff, in his little mind, thinks we need to get a few little items. I said to him, or should I say gave him the “look” you girls know what I’m talking about….that look that means what are you thinking? Are you out of your freaking mind look? Yup…that one. Well, we have a perfectly good desk in our back office. Was it good enough? Nope. He wanted to buy this oak one that is way bigger and better. And costs money. Money I could of spent on something way more useful….like I don’t know, a mouse trap, or batteries, or bellybutton lint remover kit. But NO, he had to have the desk, plus a veggie steamer, plus a fondue pot, plus a key holder to hang our keys on. We did need that, I will give that to him. All the other crap….I promise will be at Goodwill in the next year. You may even be buying it! What was he thinking….was he even thinking? I don’t think he took his brain with him when he left this morning….

just for you veggie....and for suz, you old lady and chris! what a bunch of old farts...get your spectacles on! geez! just kidding, hurt me lil irish eyes too, so won't be using that crappy font again! enjoy veggie!

Honey…..I’m Home! And the House is Bootifull!!

 

Got home Friday at about 3pm, had the most wonderful and relaxing time at me sissy’s house! 

 

 

She so loves her dindin!   She will kill me when she sees this!  Well you do love your cooking!  And so do I!  I gained like 15 lbs while I was there! 

 

We had a party for Chris’ oldest son, Nicholas.  Here is his birth mom, Terri.  The first time I met her.  We had such a good meal, and a great party.  Here is the birthday boy…..my NicNac…..now 26!  Not a little boy any more!

 

 

The birthday cake was sooooo freakin good, Chris’ daughter Em made it!  It was all colors inside….I don’t have that pic….but boy was it moist. 

 

Chris has been keeping you up on her “alien” story, so I won’t bore you with her details.  We had all that going on too, PLUS a bag of chips!  lol  yup we both have the sense of humor, hers is way better.

Going Home In A Few Days

Well, I will be flying out in a few days to go back home.  My time here will be done….sadly.  Butt….not without one last fling…..our fun time at the Emergency Room!  My oldest sister found a lump on her belly, just below her belly button.  So….my middle sister decided she should go get it checked out tonight.  So off we went….I am posting this from the ER.  Chris is off getting her CAT scan at the moment.  The Dr. thinks it may be a hernia.  I will keep you abreast of the situation.  We should know in just a few hours.  I will repost when we know. 

 

Our renovations to our house are almost complete.  My honey took pictures, but they came out a little blurry, so when I get home I will post new pictures that are better and clearer.  I promise.  So this is all for now.  I will post more later, my bloggy buds.  Please pray for my sissy.  Thanks. 

Made the Trip....Butt....

I made it here to my sister's house in one piece. The trip had no hitches, but I am sicker than a dog! Ickkk! It started on Monday. I thought it was allergies....so I just took my allergy meds and played it off. The night before my flight, I was achy and all that. I knew I was in big trouble. The last time I came here, in January, I drove, it took me 24 hours, i drove straight through....sick, with a fever....through a blizzard. I think this is a sign. Anyhoo, I trudged through the airport, dragging... doped on tylenol, sudephed, benedryl and ibuprofen all day long, alternating, of course. Feverishly winding my way to find my gates. When I got there, got on the plane, I was in the last seat always sitting in the back corner. This time, I was seated next to a large man, (I'm 5', 125 lbs) and he had lifted the arm that divides the seat between us, because he "overflowed" onto my seat. Unfortunately, I couldn't move, we were overbooked. Dang! It was only 1 1/2 hours, right? I could do this. I was pressed against the window....heaven forbid I had to get out in a hurry!





The next leg of my trip I was in the back the plane again, only it wasn't a big guy, it was a freaking cowboy wearing a ten gallon stetson! It started out ok, but he wanted to chat after awhile. He was nervous cuz he never flew before! Imagine that....but me having my "cold" or whatever, my ears were blocked and I couldn't hear. So I kept having to have him repeat himself. It wasn't till were about to land that he tells me he has Meniere's disease, which is fluid behind the ears or something like that. Makes him hard of hearing also. We were yelling at each other the whole flight!! LMAO!!! What a frikking nightmare this trip is. I was sick coming over and I have been sick since I have been here. It has been one thing after another. I have been here almost a week, and I am still hacking and coughing, achy and not feeling good. What a vacation!! I will post more later and keep you all updated....ehhhhh, was I not supposed to come out here? I was sick last time I came too!

Happy 4th of July and All that

Hey....it's been awhile....thought i'd better get on here and let you all know i was still alive and kickin. yup...still here. happy 4th of july and all that jazz! hope everyone had a good one. we had a quiet one getting ready for a major overhaul of our kitchen. we had to move all our living room stuff out...well dining room junk first, then living room, cuz we are relocating the dining room to the living area...then we are making a great room out of the old dining area....plus part of the old living room....then of course the kitchen makeover. well....i decided this would be a really good time to go visit my sister.

i didn't really mean to leave at this time. REALLY....i didn't. she just had some major medical crap done and i was soooo worried, i just had to go see her. they did a heart catherization thinking they may have to do by pass surgery....thankfully they didn't. but i was a nervous wreck. and being that she is me fave sissy....well, i had to go see her. so i begged me hunny. and he just couldn't tell me no. and the soonest i could leave was well, you guessed it....the week of destruction/renovations. so...i will be gone for 3 whole weeks and it will be all said and done when i return! darn....i won't be here for any of it...."sigh" i'm so sad, darn....can you tell? i'm really "sniff" sad about that....but someone has to go on vacation....dang it....so its gonna be me.

meanwhile....back at the ranch....hunny will hold down the fort with MIL and FIL and all will be well. I will go to my sisters' and see both of them. they will fight over me as usual. we will frolic in her pool....grill dindin whenever the urge hits....sleep in....look at old pictures like we used to......talk about family and remember them in all different kind of ways.....mostly just the one sister that does that, lol....eat good food that only we can make when we are together......enjoy this time verrrrry much cuz it will FLY by sooooo fast!!!!

Lots of New Things Going On....

Well, I have had such an eventful week! Major BIG stuffs.....well to me they are. LOL! I had some surgery about a month ago on my shoulder....well that was awhile ago....but anyhoo, it has been a long road to recovery. Physical therapy has been more like torture therapy.....and there is still a long way to go. They had to repair some torn ligaments and also clean up some bone fragments from a break a few years ago. Nice.

Next on the agenda....one of my medicines was causing me to have palpitations and a fast heart beat. Over a hundred beats per minute...for no good reason...I could see if there was a cute guy involved, or maybe some alcohol....but no good reason...and it also depleted my potassium! So on top of all that I felt like poop. Probably looked like it too. Then the chest pain started. Ehhhh, I got scared. I immediately went to the ER. They decided to keep me for a few days. My potassium was critically low. They dip a IV drip of potassium, OMG. I will never do that again!!! EVER, NEVER, AGAIN! It was just like having pure alcohol run through my veins. It burned so bad, I cried, sobbed, as they gave it to me. They told me "it would burn just a bit." I would not wish that on a dead animal! Anyway....that is done...I'm still waiting on dr. reports....but I'm home and doing a bit better.

On a lighter note....get off this boring subject.....I got a cute new lil computer. It's only 10 inches! It is just too cute! It only weighs like 2.5 lbs dripping wet! (don't try that at home!) And it does everything my 15 in did, cept the DVD player...and well, I will miss that. But for the weight, since my shoulder surgery, I can't lift so much...I love it, its so light! It is the size of a book! Perfect for me small, little hands. Love it!

Also....we have company coming! Yip yip horray! My husband's sister is coming for a visit next week. She will be here a whole week. She is coming to surprise her dad who is in the nursing home. Her youngest son may come also. I haven't seen him since our kids were little. He is like 30 now, but it will be so nice to visit. Her other son and his family will be here also the following weekend. So a little fam reunion will take place. They are coming for a wedding. My son has two kids that will play with their daughter, who is two. It will be fun. (I think! LOL) Pictures to follow for all the extravaganzas!!

29th Anniversary Celebration Day

Today was a day of celebration with my favorite peeps! I spent it with my grandbabies all day long, then the evening with my honey of 29 years. It was the perfect day. The only thing to make it any better would be to have the other kids here and my sisters and brother. Here are a few bragging pics to show off my day.....lol.

It started with the kids coming over at 8am. Their mom got a job and she had training today and tomorrow. So I will have them tomorrow too. I first thought it would be stressful. But there are people that would die to have there grandbabies with them even for an hour here and there. So, when they lived in Tennessee, I was that Nonna. My other grand daughter lived in Italy for her first 2 years also, yes, I am blessed to have these two with me. And my husband is retired too, so he is home all day and helps with them and enjoys taking them or one of them if they get too energetic. We spent the day outside in the pool, playing with toys, blowing bubbles, inside, doing puzzles, reading, playing doctor, going for a walk with her baby, Jim took Sammy to see his great grampa in the nursing home, it was just a relaxing day! He brought home Mcdonald's for lunch and we just had a nice, fun day together.

Tonight, after going to see dad at the home, we went to a really nice seafood place at the beach called the Channel Marker. We had never been there. So we gave it a shot. We got a table with a water view. It was so romantic. They took our picture for us and were so nice when they found out it was our anniversary. They gave us free cake!! yummy! That's always a plus. I got filet mignon and lobster, french onion soup, and Jim got a Captain's Platter, which is a seafood combo of oysters, shrimp, fish and scallops. He also got clam chowder. They served us bread, of course, and crackers with the best cheese... and I got a margarita, Jim a beer, to top it all off. It was all sooooo good. We took a big doggie bag home. We oinked out! Way too much food. AND he had to eat some of mine. I came home soooo stuffed. That isn't even counting the side orders. The garlic mashed potatoes are to die for! Jim got the double stuffed baked, he didn't like it at all, he said it tasted old. LOL!

Tomorrow we will go to the park, and some shopping at the base. More swimming to be done...and we might get some rain, so a movie might be in order, don't know yet. But whatever it is, you can bet, it will be fun. Maybe even take in a Walmart run! WooHoo!

The Candy from Hell.....

Ok, I made these candies....actually...caramels...they are a recipe off the food network...I always have good luck with their foods. This one though...OMG....well I know where I went wrong...my husband busted my candy thermometer and graciously offered me his digital one...used mostly for meats and such. Well, when I added the cream mixture to the sugar mixture it read 345*! It was only supposed to cook to 248* to begin with! I was like, this is way too easy...it was the right color, it coated the spoon, everything...so I took it off the burner and did everything else, stuck it in the fridge...and the next morning, it is still liquid! I was sooooo disapointed! I didn't want to throw all that good stuff out.

I had purchased fleur del sel, special french sea salt. The good Madagascar Bourbon vanilla. And of course, all the butter and cream....yummy!!

So, I had this crazy idea...what if I baked it? If it doesn't work, I would just throw it out anyway, right? ROFL.....well, people....I'm on day two of baking....I baked it for 1 hour and 30 minutes yesterday....smelled sooooo good in the house, like a candy shop. Put it in the fridge to cool, this morning, still was too soft to roll. So back in the oven she went AGAIN!! This time for 2 hours....we will see what she has to say tomorrow. I don't know if I am up for this candy business....it would of been easier to run get a frikkin candy thermometer!!!

Nice Rolling Thunderstorms....hmmmmm

We have nice storms going on today, and its a bit cooler. Just a bit of a drizzle so far, but forcasting a lot more of a gush later.....but right now, rumbling nicely is a low, deep grumbly thunder in the back drop. Perfect for curling up and watching a good movie, or reading a book. Or even better....a nice nap all snuggled in my big bed with my big bubba, all smooshed under the blankets...comfy and cozy.....

Yup...this is a perfect day....just wish it was with my favorite sister who loves storms too! We would have soooo much fun!

We had some friends over too, but my batteries died after these few pictures, someone left the camera on, but I wont mention his name, k? We aren't supposed to hold grudges or anything.....but I would of had more fun pics, of home made ice cream, toll house cookies, nice cooked out food on the grill, everyone eating, all the flies having a feast....but you get the visual in your mind's eye.....you don't need an actual picture do ya? CUZ SOMEONE LEFT THE CAMERA ON AND KILLED THE BATTERIES!!!! But since it is Memorial Day and all, I didn't want to harp on him seeing that he is a veteran and all, and he deserves a little respect seeing that he did serve his country, gave his time, sacrificed all those holidays, birthdays, anniversarys, etc. away from the kids....so he deserves a little kindness from me on his special day......awwww.....i feel bad now....i should go give him kisses and love on him....poor baby......all those times when he was gone.....HE SHOULD OF FRIKKIN TURNED OFF THE FRIKKIN CAMERA!!!! But I love him.....

im feeling a bit lonely and melancholy....wanting to spend time with my siblings....to reminisce of days we had fun and try to match our stories....cuz thats what we do. i miss my brother, haven't seen him in a year...and that was just a short week. it seems whenever we do get together with my sisters we usually have to argue about where i will stay, what days we will do what, with whom and so on. i know, i should feel good about that, but it is so seldom that i see them, i wish we just lived closer so that we could fight and have the crap that goes on with relatives that live close by. my son live 2 miles down the road, i see him every day for lunch, but don't see his kids, my babies hardly at all. why? because it is a big production to get them here. i usually have to make a meal when i invite them over. and since we live with my in-laws, i have to consider them, well her now, since dad is in the nursing home. she can't take the stress of two little ones. so i loooooong for sibling closeness. i craaaaaaaave sisterly/brotherly rivalry. i waaaaaaaaaant family togetherness. i neeeeeeeeeed my toone, niecey and denden!!!

my brother is in austin, tx. i last saw him in may last year. it was his and denise's birthday. today is their birthday so i guess that is why i am so blah....i wanna be with them again. two of them are together, and he is alone with his wife and her family. i miss them all. i just think life is too short to see each other "whenever we get the money" or "whenever we can fit you in" or "whatever". i know people have lives, and i know they have extenuating circumstances, i have them too. we all don't make that much money. neither of us siblings makes enough to hardly make ends meet as it is. i guess i am just flapping my gums, i know it will never happen, i will never leave here, because jims parents depend on us, and now my son lives here, so we will not leave them here. and i know that my brother will never leave texas, all his wife's family is there, they have lived there all their married life. and the two sisters won't leave nebraska, that is where their kids live and grew up, so my dream of all of us ever living all together is just that, a dream....
